Republican Women of Clifton consider Virginia’s Death Penalty at January 16 Meeting
CLIFTON, VA, December 10, 2018 - The Republican Women of Clifton (RWC) welcomes Dale Brumfield, Field Director, Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, to speak on “Virginia’s Death Penalty: The Future is History”. The event will take place Wednesday, January 16, 2018 at Fairview Elementary School, 5815 Ox Road, Fairfax Station. The social half-hour will begin at 7 pm; business meeting and presentation follows at 7:30 pm.
Dale Brumfield is the Field Director with Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. His interest in the abolition of the death penalty dates to 2010 with the authoring and publication of a guest opinion for Richmond’s Style Weekly entitled “Double Lifers.” Since then, he has authored numerous books and articles, including his 2017 book titled The Virginia Penitentiary: A Notorious History. As Field Director of VADP, Brumfield organizes grassroots support and engages conservative, libertarian, and evangelical groups on key initiatives, including severe mental illness and the death penalty.
Brumfield received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from VCU in 1981, and, in 2015, his Master of Fine Arts. He lives with his wife in Doswell.
